The Atlanta Braves are a team of Major League Baseball with its base in Atlanta, Georgia, since 1966. The team plays in the Eastern Division of the National League. The Braves have the honor of winning the division title 14 consecutive times from 1991 and ending in 2005, omitting the strike reduced the 1994 season in which no division champions was officially crowned. However, young pitchers Tom Glavine, Steve Avery and John Smoltz began receiving training for pitching coach Leo Mazzone. That same year, the Braves used the number one overall draft pick of the majors to select Chipper Jones, who became a star player.

The Braves made the biggest leap in the office. John Schuerholz was hired away from Kansas City Royals as general manager immediately after the season.

The following season, Glavine, Avery, and Smoltz have won the recognition as the best young pitchers in the league. It wong 52 games between them.
