Are the Packers receivers the reason they weren’t so good the past few seasons?

Some of my co-workers are talking about GB right now, one a Packer fan. They are saying that the Packers weren’t good the past few season because Favre’s receivers had so many drops. Is this the case? I mean 29 ints in 2005, is that the receivers fault?

No, Favre’s always had good receivers. Donald Driver’s been there for a while, and before Greg Jennings they had Javon Walker. They had a lot of youth on that 2005 team, and the injury to Ahman Green that year was devastating. The defense took a while to come together, and just like that, the Packers were struggling. Brett Favre is also playing differently than he was as recently as 2 years ago. He’s taking what the defense is giving him, and showing uncharacteristic patience. It’s no coincidence that in 2007 he had the highest completion percentage of his career.
